Cycads in Limpopo
This magnificent species of cycads can only be found in the area of the Bolubedu people – the only matrilineal dynasty in South Africa. They are named after Modjadji – the Rain Queen.
Vilakazi Street, Soweto
South Africa’s most well-known township, Soweto is a vibrant place to visit. It boasts the only street in the world to have been home to two Nobel laureates, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Other attractions include the Hector Pieterson Memorial, and the Walter Sisulu Square (also known as Freedom Square).
