So you have a medical aid, with gap cover, and you can confidently pay your premiums every month. But what happens if you pass on?
Premium Waiver cover gives you peace of mind that if you pass away, your family will still be covered while the estate is being wound up. A pre-determined sum of money will be paidmonthly to a nominated beneficiary, to assist in covering the medical aid and/or gap cover premiums. This coverage can extend to a period of 3,6 or 9 months. If you are the one primarily responsible for your family’s income, and you know that without that income your family would struggle to pay the monthly bills, then a Premium Waiver policy is advisable.
