They say that habits are created in 21 days. However, mastering a routine that sets you up for a successful day is easier to achieve. Here are some daily routines to put into place for a glorious healthy day.

In the Morning

Avoid looking at your phone. If you are guilty of starting your day with Facebook or another digital distraction – stop! Time seems to enter a different dimension when we are engrossed in our devices. Rather use the time to do some in-bed stretches, deep breathing, and a visualisation of the day ahead.

Drink a glass of water. As soon as you get up, gulp down a glass of good old H2O. It wakes up your body with some much-needed hydration after a dry night. Bonus: one down, only seven to go.

Before you head out, make your bed. It only takes a couple of minutes and helps to create a calm environment for you in your bedroom. It is a satisfactory way to start your day with a tick on your to do list.

In the Evening

Clear up and tidy your workspace before you head home. This fosters a sense of finality to the working day, allowing you to fully focus your attention on your evening activities. It is also wonderful to walk into a neat office the next morning.

Set out your clothes, gym gear and do your errands the night before. This allows you a chance to prepare anything you may have forgotten. It also encourages you to stick to your decisions (such as exercising.) The more stress you can prevent the next morning, the better.
