International Women’s Day

Group of friends

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year. It is a day where women’s rights are the focal point. The first International Women’s Day occurred in 1911 and was supported by over 1 million people. It has increased every year since.

The theme for the 2019 campaign is #BalanceForBetter. This campaign runs all year long. It doesn’t just end on International Women’s Day. The focus is to build a gender-balanced world. Gender Balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive and excel.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist, and activist once explained “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”

How to get involved:

Motivate others: This can be done by striking the #BalanceforBetter pose. You can see the pose here.

Social Media: Share a picture of your pose along with the hashtag #BalanceforBetter.

Word of mouth: Make sure your voice is heard.

It does not matter if you are male or female. Anyone can be part of this campaign. So, make a difference this International Women’s Day. A small effort from a lot of people can go a long way.

Our Female Cancer Cover will assist you by paying out a pre-determined lump sum of money upon confirmed diagnosis of certain female cancers.
