TRA has partnered with MobiMed to bring you the TRA Assist App, designed to provide exciting and essential services to all TRA Gap Cover and Female Cancer Cover policyholders, regardless of the option chosen.
TRA Assist App Powered by MobiMed
When you sign up for this app, add as much information as possible under your profile to make the most of the services provided to you.
The TRA Assist app is available to the main policyholder as well as dependents over the age of 18; however, only the main policyholder can make changes to profile details on the app.
1. Home Drive Services
With TRA’s Home Drive benefit, there are two options available. However, both are in place to ensure you get home safely after a night out or should you need a lift home.
Option 1: Own Vehicle
A designated driver service ensures you and your vehicle get home safely.
How it works?
When requested, two drivers will arrive—one to drive your vehicle and the other to follow. Our female clients are typically paired with female drivers for added peace of mind.
This service is available within a 50km radius of major city centres in South Africa, including Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Gqebertha, East London, George, and Nelspruit.
Benefits:
- Access to 6 trips per policy per annum.
- Includes the main policyholder and up to two guests from a single pickup point to a single drop-off point.
- Larger vehicles with more seats can accommodate additional passengers if seatbelts are available.
Operating Hours:
- Available from 18h00 to 03h00.
- Last booking: 01h00 (peak periods) or 02h00 (off-peak).
Additional Charges:
- Exceeding 6 trips: Approx. R500 per additional trip.
- Exceeding 50km: Approx. R10 per additional km.
Option 2: Uber Taxi Service
For those without a vehicle, an Uber can be dispatched to your location.
The Uber Taxi Service operates within the same 6-trip policy per annum as Home Drive and includes:
- Uber X: 1 trip deducted (from the 6).
- Uber Black: 2 trips deducted (from the 6).
- Uber Van: 3 trips deducted (from the 6).
Please Note:
- Operates 24/7 in areas where Uber South Africa is available.
- Trips should ideally be booked in advance, although spontaneous bookings are possible.
2. Medical Health and Trauma Counselling Line
Medical Advice Line
Available 24/7, MobiMed’s team of qualified nurses provides confidential medical assistance, including:
- Emergency advice.
- Symptom assessment and referrals.
- Explanation of medical terms, test results, and medication information.
- Chronic condition support for illnesses like diabetes, cancer, and HIV/AIDS.
Trauma Counselling
Professional trauma counselling services are available to help with incidents such as:
- Death.
- Armed robbery.
- Suicide threats.
- Hijackings and shootings.
Services include telephonic counselling, critical incident management, and referrals to psychologists or psychiatrists if needed.
3. Panic Button
With TRA Assist, you have access to a Panic Button that offers 24/7 access to an experienced crisis manager who will assist you during any emergency.
This feature connects you to emergency services, your security provider, and other necessary contacts, ensuring you’re never alone in a crisis.
4. Roadguard Service
In partnership with CASI (Call All Stations Immediately), this security assistance service provides roadside protection in case of vehicle breakdowns.
CASI works with over 200 armed response companies nationwide to accompany you and ensure you are safe while waiting for roadside services.
5. Mobile Claim Submission
We have simplified the claims submission process:
- Take photos of the required documents.
- Navigate to the ‘Submit Claim’ section on the app.
- Upload the photos and submit them.
- Alternatively, you can send claims to claims@totalrisksa.co.za.
6. Update Member Details
Policyholders can update personal details, such as medical aid information and email addresses, directly in the app. TRA’s membership department will then action these updates.
